Well, it’s over 90 degrees in Northern Ohio, and Tom and I decided to visit my mom and uncle who don’t have Air-conditioning. I love my cuddly cat Mona, but she loves to cuddle when the temperature is 90 degrees . . .  rolls my eyes.  I wish I had brought the camera as the kitten Talbot is getting so big and he has these amazing stripes.
So today: ( Read more... )

It's hot here too. I feel the same way about not being able to accomplish things in life yet. I think to myself what do I have now? A loving hubby and dog and nice apt ,etc." and that helps.

And Tale of the Body Thief was a fun one. The things Lestat gets into.
And thank you-someone else who dislikes Twilight~!

The heat should pass this weekend. I just have to focus a bit harder, and I'm sure I'll accomplish something. However it is nice to know someone understands.

The irony with this was when I saw your message, there was an ad for twilight crap next to it. Talk about selling out, I wonder if Meyers sold her soul for the fame? Her vampires don't even have fangs at least I read about it here in the chart http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tables_of_vampire_traits

I love the fact that as Tom and I were reading I kept telling Lestat don't do it and of course he did it, he's Lestat de Lioncourt. . . Crazy S.O.B. LOL

"Babette, Babette" . . . sorry a Louie line. Anyway, I love Lestat's firey drive.

"Tale of the Body Thief" is by far my favorite in the series. It's just so deliciously fun, light yet dark and gruesome all at once. Lestat is on two levels in this book -- both startingly vulnerable and ON FIRE as usual and it really rounds him out as a character.

I would LOVE to do a film adaptation of it. If I ever did a book-to-film adaptation, it would be of this baby. Though the thought of asking Anne Rice's permission since the death of her husband and loss of their house in Katrina (did you here, it was on the market and the foundation was completely destroyed!) is a bit unsettling...it's not much of a deterrent, however. I was already casting Alexis Denisof for the role of The Body in my head and Monica Belluci as Gretchen. Because...in the words of Mel Gibson, "how do you not cast her, she's beautiful?!? The more dirt you throw on that woman the more beautiful she becomes..." to which Jay Leno smiles and replies, "That's how I like my women too."

....I have an interview on tape for some reason

Karma is funny. . . as soon as Anne Rice went on Christian kick (and she had denied her old self for while), things really happened to her. (I know being a writer is not easy, but cannot deny your publishings new or old.)
I understand why Anne Rice went back to Christianity, but that is whole another blog.

As for TotBT. . . so far great book. I heard Tom Cruise had the rights, but I'm not sure what he is doing with such a book. I think someone else should redo (this is the only time I will say "remake" to a movie ever) to "Queen of the Damned." Again this is a blog I want to write up once I get the time.
I'm not sure who Monica Belluci is, but I'm sure she is gorgeous.

I know what you mean. I'm 13 years removed from my high school graduating class, and sometimes I wonder what the hell I've been up to with my time. Nothing makes me feel like a slacker quite like seeing people from my class on Facebook.

Twilight sucks. That's a painful story to read or watch.

Yeah, I hate Facebook as much as Facebook interests me. I'm so far behind on my to-do list, my novel writing and my traveling and looking at facebook only reminds me more of this. :-/

Twilight defiantly sucks.
