Pinecones

This is somehow symbolic of all that is wrong with consumerism in America. Crate & Barrel is selling pinecones -- pinecones! -- for $20 a pop. They're over a foot long, and that's fairly nifty, but I'm fairly sure pinecones don't go copper as they age.

So they're $6.66 each. Great. They're evil pinecones! And sneaky evil pinecones, at that. Coming in groups of three so their evil countenance is not immediately apparent.

Its funny that they include free shipping under furniture.

I think this goes under "someone thought it would be funny if" column.

Not all furniture is free shipping. Those are separate data points. What's funny is that the pine cones are part of the "furniture collection" at all.
