Yeah, nor is my shirt red. I came up Uhura first, but then realized I really never wear miniskirts anymore, so I went back and changed that. Uhura has some inherent awesomeness, but her main role on the show is to be hot. She's not actually a terribly interesting character. She was actually going to quit, but met Martin Luther King, who told her she had to stay on the show, because she was the reason he let his kids watch Star Trek, and that Star Trek was pretty much the only show he let his kids watch.
