Selena Gomez? She's a pretty good actress, but not what I would think of for a tweenager in 1950's Oregon. She also looks older than Beezus would be. I can't offhand think of someone who "fits", though.

The Ramona books are classic. The actress who's playing Mrs. Quimby (Ramona & Beezus's mom) said she grew up on them too.
