Garrett was injured earlier while riding his new horse, Second Chance...which I may name him Epic Fail. Second Chance apparently was spooked. The horse threw Garrett, dislocating his shoulder and breaking his collarbone. He also has a bruised left hip which may be cracked, but not fractured since he walked home ( Read more... )

And everyone wants to know why I'm afraid of horses!

Give him a kick in the pants kiss from me! If I could get there, I'd do my mojo.

Heh.

Garrett's been thrown before, but at least it was in the corral, this was out in the forest. He said a fallen tree broke his fall. He's lucky he didn't break his neck.

But gods, he's going to milk this for everything it's worth. You know how men are.

I'm sorry you're gonna be stuck with him!

You can always run away this way. :D

If he gives me any hassle, I'm going to get him the ugliest, meanest nurse and leave him to stay with you and El. That should fix him up real quick.

I don't think it's that bad...at least I hope not. His arm will be in a sling for a while and he loves sleeping on his left side. Guess he won't be doing that.

'least it wasn't his shootin' arm!

Make sure he puts a piece of scrap cloth or one of his scarves between his arm and the sling - unless he's wearing long sleeves. Rubs like hell. :(

Garrett said he heard a twig snap and then something moving in the brush and the horse got spooked. He thinks he smelled a mountain lion or sensed some sort of danger.

When he got up, he didn't hear anything growl or see what it was. But he did say he felt as if he was being watched just before it happened.

Travis is out there looking for tracks to see what it was.

He's wearing a long shirt now...and snoring.
