I really love our new computer chair. I found it by the side of the road when I was out riding my bike on Saturday, and I brought it home in my flatbed and spent the evening cleaning it and fixing it up. It has a really wheels, armrests, a high back, and a nice, coushy seat. I really don't think anyone could tell from looking at it that I found it on the street.
I was looking through my old journal entries the other night and found
this entry I made in France, and since I just resynced my iPod, I decided to do it again. A line from 20 songs, selected randomly, rearranged so they tell a story ... sort of.
1. I used to rule the world.
2. I never will forget the way the moonlight shined upon her hair.
3. But armchair warriors often fail.
4. I was cryin' on the staircase, beggin' you, please don't go.
5. That's when they say I lost my only friend.
6. Where's my wife and family?
7. Inbetween the sand and stone, could you make it on your own?
8. At night I wake up with the sheets open wide.
9. No one's there when your dreams at night get creepy.
10. Don't it make you sad to know that life is more than who we are?
11. Maybe I should get some help.
12. God save my son.
13. He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping, then he turned around and headed home again.
14. That kid came sailin' through.
15. You've got a lot on your chest, but you can come as my guest.
16. I come around all broken-down and crowded-out, and you're comfort.
17. Deep down inside, we want to believe they still do.
18. There has never been anything false about hope.
19. That summer I turned a corner in my soul.
20. Now I know that happiness goes on.
