I have really missed our calico stray cat since she died last month. She never fought with Mayim or Tovah, and she kept away other, meaner stray cats. Since she died, a gray-and-white male stray has been showing up in our backyard, and he’s a lot more feral and aggressive. Earlier this week, he got into a fight with Tovah and did a real number on her. She seemed unharmed physically (except for a few tufts of hair missing), but she was left very shaken and scared, not at all her usual feisty, spirited self. For a few days afterwards, she hid under my bed or in her cat house and barely ate or moved. It was scary to see, but she seems more or less herself again now. Tovah is now ~17, and I think the fight just made that declawed old lady feel her age. We might have to get rid of that stray cat.
Last weekend, we had Athena over for a birthday sleepover before the baby comes. We went out to eat, went shopping, ate cheesecake, and watched cheesy old ‘90s movies. It was a lot of fun, although I was kinda shocked by how much stuff Athena bought. (But then, I hate shopping and hate stuff. I don’t even like people giving me gifts. Barf.) I try not to buy things for Abram because I think his room is already bursting with toys enough. That boy is in for one rude awakening when his sister gets born. I told Sara he is about to be “dethroned.” Athena and Josh have pretty much agreed on Lydia for her first name, but no middle name yet.
Sara recently added Hulu to our streaming service, and they have a lot of old TV shows that we love: CSI, ER, The Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, King of the Hill, Law & Order: SVU, and more! So I’ve been spending waaay too much time on my butt watching TV lately. It’s hard to believe that 2020 is almost halfway over. Ugh, the future!!! But I’m still on track with my fanfiction goals and reading goals for this year (16 books so far this year, currently on
Kissing Max Holden and
Silver Sparrows), and last weekend, we were able to actually go inside the library for the first time since freakin’ February!
