Rebecca spends all year looking forward to July 2 because...

Five years ago today, Rebecca published the first chapter of her first fanfiction. It's hard to believe that I've been at it for so long now. Writing and reading fanfiction is definitely up there with crocheting and bike-riding on my list of activities that keep me sane. I enjoy it so much and like to think that I'm good at it. I only just recently (like, last week) discovered the forums section on FF.net and have gotten a little addicted to a game called "review tag." I always publish my stats on my ficaversary, so here they are for this year.

YEAR 5 STATS: 18 stories, 9 fandoms, 36 chapters/shots, 116 reviews. Six of my stories are for Les Miserables, six for X-Men, and six are for other fandoms. The first story I wrote this year was The Store-Bought Doll, and the last was The Turquoise Dress. My longest story this year was Always at 14,281 words, and my shortest was Beautiful, No Matter What They Say at 747 words. My most reviewed multi-chapter story was Always at 25 reviews, and my most reviewed one-shot was The Turquoise Dress at 9. (This story is still relatively recent, so I think it might pick up a few more reviews. I never expected it to be that popular. It just goes to show that five years in, I still can't predict what readers will like!)

5-YEAR AVERAGES: 90 stories, 27 fandoms, 169 chapters/shots, 1,396 reviews for me, 1,105 reviews by me, average 2,990 words per story, average 18 stories per year, average 220 reviews by me per year. 36 of my stories are for NCIS (40%), 18 are for Les Miserables (20%), and 8 for X-Men (9%). Two stories each are for The Baby-Sitters Club, Ever After, Jane Eyre, the Seven Kingdoms books, and The Sound of Music. Nineteen are for other fandoms, each at one story apiece. My longest story overall is Pages Torn Out at 22,216 words, and my shortest is A Day's Work at 605 words. My most reviewed multi-chapter overall is Defensive Wounds at 104, and my most reviewed one-shot is Silver and Gold at 31.

Of my five ficaversaries, all but one of them have been posted from a different apartment! BARF! I just hope that July 2, 2016, doesn't find me posting from yet another stinking address.

This day last year is here.
