And now Muse Watson is covered in cat hair!

This was my last weekend before my new job. I start bright and early tomorrow morning, and I'm so nervous that I could puke! Ugh! To distract me, I spent over four hours at Athena's today, watching the 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables. It is hands-down the BEST Les Mis production EVER, and we both love it so much that I doubt we could ever get tired of it. We wanted to watch it together one last time before Athena moves; she's leaving for the other side of the country on Friday, which makes me so sad that I can't even stand to think about it. So, back to Les Mis. We made fun of Nick Jonas, swooned over Alfie Boe, and I couldn't help laughing at how upset Athena was when she realized we'd confused Simon Bowman with John-Owen Jones. ("But he looks more like a Simon!") I have so got to buy my own copy of it, and the book, and Alfie Boe's CD where he covers "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind." Okay, I'll stop now.

Yesterday morning, we took the cats to the vet. Tovah was due for her annual shots, Mayim got her nails trimmed, and they both got a pill to kill their fleas. Everyone at the vet's loved Mayim and couldn't get over how calm and sweet she was. She also did so well in the car. She threw up on the ride home from the animal shelter, but this time, she just sat there and chilled and looked out the window. Poor Tovah had to get at least two shots (I'm not sure because I couldn't even look) and they had to take a stool sample! Ugh! She dealt with it much better than I would've.

I still have yet to find Alfie Boe's cover of this beautiful old hymn, but here are the final two verses of "Dear Lord and Father of Mankind." I listen to this song to help me relax, and I definitely need that if I'm going to get any sleep tonight!

Drop thy still dews of quietness
Till all our strivings cease
Take from our souls the strain and stress
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of thy peace

Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and thy balm
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire
O still, small voice of calm

tovah, lyrics, athena, les miserables, mayim, fun times
