First, a fandom thing:

I wrote a story for seasonal_spuffy's "Road Trip" round called We Will Drive Through the Fire. If you want to know anything about my experiences with the California wildfires last month, that will give you an idea.

We do have a few things going on. Heh.

The Buffy drag show has been loads of fun. They do a new season every October. The director is a local treasure, and came late to Buffy fandom, but now he's all in! They have a cabaret that does various things: drag Star Trek, drag AbFab, drag Golden Girls, etc., and some "original" material. That's just a small sliver of what's happening, but the Buffy stuff does dovetail precisely with my interests!

Glad to hear you are helping out hello_spikey. I noticed her fics were going up on AO3 the other day and I got excited.

It's still all about the Buffy, for me. The rich loam of fandom suits me fine.

Yeah, the last couple of years have been chock full of work stuff, and none of the other stuff has eased up the least bit. It's weird being back in the thick of someone else's school life. I'm attempting to be less involved, but I have to fight my nature. I'm just glad for the little work respite, so I can do more fun fandom things, and reconnect with my online people!

A Buffy drag show?! Now I need to research if we have one here in Kansas City. it sounds like a must see.

I loathe the aftermath of upgrades. I am a luddite willing to live in the past rather than talk to strangers about why shit that used to work doesn't work at all with a supposedly shiny new OS.

I'm just surprised that it took so long for us to get a "serious" drag Buffy here in SF. It only started in 2016!

I don't mind arguing with tech support people, but they do not seem interested in really fixing the problem this time around, so I am annoyed.
