I finally found a spare moment to read this, and I'm glad I did. I haven't read the pairing before, but it just sounds right the way you've written them. Very...I'm not sure exactly the word I'm looking for, not quite bitter-sweet, but something similiar, perhaps because we know how it has to end. In short, I really want to reach through the screen and give them both a hug.
