On being a good bloggist

The key to being a good blogger is to update frequently with content that is at least a little entertaining. It doesn't have to be /very/ entertaining, but it ought to hit somewhere between the power of cute kitten pictures and whittering on about your ingrown toenail

The thing I have noticed that keeps me from blogging is that one also must share bits about oneself. One must often share new bits to keep readers interested, and over time, they can develop a good perception of who (and where) the blogger is. I am scared to share that much of me with total strangers who I may never meet; and that keeps me from even attempting to write a serious blog that could garner attention from the masses.

(Writing on LJ is hindered by other imaginary reasons, since everyone who can read my journal is already a friend.)
