Hey, it definitely gave me an IDEA where the joist was, since it most regularly lit up in this one area. (my ceiling is covered in somewhat contradictory pencil marks).

Couldn't have done it without the Smoopie help!

I saw lots of adorable all-weather throw pillows at Home Despot when I went to buy hooks. I decided after a moment of eager, but wistful, indecision, that I would have to come back with Brian. And/or check out Pier One first.

It's surprisingly comfy as bare metal!

Thank you for this post, and talking about the adult-ness of putting this up yourself. I may bookmark it and come back to it often. Lately I have been whining about how "if I'm the only one here, then there's no one else to do it, so I just do it;" but you are right that if I want something done I should just do it myself. (I know that would make my husband happy, too. Happy me and bonus happy husband.)

Yeah! Get your accomplish on. It's worth the effort, isn't it? I mean, it harshes on my laziness, but then I get to be more lazy ON the swing, and think about how awesome I am at the same time, instead of feeling helpless because no one will do it for me.
