I was more wiped after the event on Saturday than I think I ever have been. I barely convinced myself to take a shower before falling into bed at the late hour of 7pm

I also fought like a red headed step child (which I am, incidentally) against Eik and Edmund, the two people I had the most invested in having good fights with.

The "pleasing others" comment really struck me. If you're fighting to impress others, won't that just mess with your head instead of just bringing your game to the fight? Stick with your #2 point you mentioned and I feel you'll go so much farther.
