Rukia knows that, beneath the bravado and pervertedness, there's that noble (mod) soul with a deep respect for all life and who once took the time to comfort Karin while Ichigo was off fighting for his life. Which is why, despite the (well deserved) abuse she may give him at times, she considers him a friend.
