Char arrives promptly after a peremptory message to Wodan that he has business to take care of in the capital. This might be the first time Light's seen him out of uniform, though he's still far more recognizable than he thinks he is.

"Evening, Lord Yagami. So, what exactly's involved in this witchcraft?"

"Not much, really," Light responded. Just place your hand on my scythe."

Light extended his scythe, pointing the blade to the ground so the haft and back of the blade were within easy reach of Char while it was still in a nonthreatening position.

Char smiles...well, smirks, but it's an honest smirk. "This is quite the useful weapon, isn't it?"

Sure of his reflexes if Yagami tried anything, Char reaches out and touches the haft of the weapon.

Almost immediately, Ryuk appeared in Char's vision, standing behind Light and grinning.

I need to speak with my old master on a number of matters regarding tactics and strategy. It's been a long time since I returned to the academy, and I need to make sure my information is current.
