Sallie left a note for Inara to invite herself and Malcolm over for dinner the next day. Inara, in her usual grace about things, noted that Mal has developed a new affinity for something called Southern Comfort, and perhaps she might bring a bottle to make the evening a bit more affable

Inara gives her a big, beaming smile, carrying a small gift of potted flowers--to brighten a counter maybe. Not that Sallie's apartment--redesigned by Esme--needs it, really.

"Sallie." She says warmly, stepping through the door.

"It's nice to see you, dear." Sallie never can't manage a smile for her daughter-in-law and releases the doorknob to move both hands behind Inara's back for a hug.

The cast ends up about two feet in front of Mal's nose by doing so.

Inara hugs her mother-in-law back, warmly and cringes a little when Mal speaks. "I'm going to put these flowers over here."

She won't go far. In case she has to get between them.
