Picspam: Top 5 Buffy/Angel Kisses
Hello again!
Here's the second part of my Christmas present. I wanted to do a top 5 of any Buffyverse kiss, but the B/A ones were too many, so I did a picspam specifically for those. Merry Christmas to everyone... Again (here's 25th December still).
5.Surprise
To be honest, the episode contained so many wonderful kisses, I wasn't sure which one to pick up. In the end I chose this one, because it represents THE big step in Buffy and Angel's relationship. The most amazing thing about this kiss is that it didn't start as THAT kind of kiss: it was meant to be comforting, reassuring of each other's presence and well-being, starting very sweetly, and then grew incredibly passionate, still expressing all of the tenderness and the Innocence it started with.
4.I Only Have Eyes for You
How can I not love this one? It's a great kiss, and it's also the first time Joss Whedon makes us understand that Angelus might be in love with Buffy as well... Pity he's not ready to deal with it yet. But this kiss, and the speech before the kiss, are so incredibly amazing and touching. Both David and Sarah are amazing in this scene.
3.Forever
I was really conflicted regarding the first three kisses: each one was beautiful, filled with love and desperation, and I have to say, perfectly "performed". I seriously considerated picking this one as the first, but then I decided to consider what each kiss meant in that precise moment (AKA heartbreaking factor) and use it as a standard: so it became third. A place of honor, still.
2.Becoming, Part 2
If the other one wasn't ever more heartbreaking, after I added the heartbreaking factor as a standard, this one would have been the first. Really. I mean. This kiss made history, and represents the beginning of the end for Buffy and Angel, and the end of the most beautiful season/period of the show. Not to count this is the saddest moment of the show, to me. I mean, you really can say she doesn't want to, and the fact he's completely unaware makes it even worse... I'm not gonna cry. I'm not. Uhu.
1.I Will Remember You
I hate you, Joss Whedon. I really do. You can't just... Do something as beautiful as Buffy/Angel and then take it away from us, and in such a bad manner (cough Season 7 cough). In fact, people, that's what this kiss represents: THE END. Gone. Finito. If B/A still had a chance, seeing as things went later, it died here. At least in Joss Whedon's mind. Not in my heart, anyway, nor in fans' hope. The desperation not to leave each other, the love showed in this kiss simply CAN'T just end in the "Yeah, maybe I'll consider you when I'll finish using Spike as my sex toy and I'll be in my right mind again" speech of Chosen, not to mention the comics. Seriously. If you need me, I'll be in my infamous Happy Land of Denial, regarding Bangel.
