I love discussing things. I love thinking thinky thoughts and I love getting in at the deep end, trying to make sense of things even if I'm not absolutely on top of the subject from the beginning. I find it absolutely terrifying sometimes, sure, but it's also amazingly rewarding.

I know what you mean :-) If I try to reason things out for myself, I often get stuck on one track and follow that without pausing to think if my initial thought was correct or not. Having someone to discuss with helps a lot, since they can point out the flaws in my reasoning, or at least get me thinking of alternative solutions.
