Lots of Updates

Small happenings, but important nonetheless:

Not CrazyI found the receipt!!  Okay, it was two days too late to apply for the rebate but at least now I know I'm not losing my mind. It was tucked into a bundle of other receipts that I needed for returns/taxes/recordkeeping.  I must have looked through that pile of receipts at least twenty times and ( Read more... )

Love the stick/stool thingy. I covet one of these http://www.completecareshop.co.uk/mobility-aids/shopping-trolleys/shopping-trolley-with-seat-view-large/?gclid=CJD1teiV778CFavHtAodQEQAIQ for when walking round the corner to the shops gets too much for me.

Meanwhile I managed to cripple and confine myself by staving and cutting my left little toe on a rough raised tile in my mother's kitchen. Spent yesterday having to just sit with foot raised. Much better today but still can't put any sort of shoe on. I'm such a clumsy idiot. :-))

Oh dear, I hope your foot is on the mend now! And I love that little shopping cart. I wish I'd seen something similar before I bought the cane because I honestly don't need a cane for mobility, it's just a handier way to carry a chair around with me.

Well I think the shopping cart is probably rather a brute to get in and out of a car, so unless shopping on foot, probably not that great. Hopefully there's a carry bag or attachable strap for the stick/stool so that you 'wear it' slung across your back rather than carry it when walking?

Toe much better today thanks. Managing to get around wearing a soft shoe and was able to drive. Still feeling really stupid for having injured myself in the first place. :-))

It does have a little strap so I can carry it across my back and I think it only weighs two pounds. I'll have to work on opening it with a flourish.

And dont' feel stupid...travel seems to carry the potential for illness and injury. I'll never forget when Russ and I took a long driving trip and he ended up with a raging sinus infection and I had a stomach virus. That was one interesting seven-hour trip home. :)

Ok that cane stool is pretty awesome. I didn't even know that was a thing that existed. I've only ever seen the big hulking walker chair things that my grandmother had (and never used).

Glad you were able to get to the store and do your thang despite the inner monologue. I hate that inner monologue. That guy's a dick. :/

Oh god, the Rollators! I looked at those and absolutely refuse to use one until I'm a little more decrepit. Though I may be in the market for one of those jazzy little scooters if the flare doesn't end soon. You should have heard my inner monologue today when I nearly passed out standing in line at a store. :/

The stool thing is great. My dad used to have an old school shooting stick but they are designed for outside and people get miffed if you stick the point in their carpets! ;)

I'm so looking forward to getting it! I could have used it today when I was out and the scanner at the store went down. If the clerk could have scanned at a normal speed, I would have been okay, but there was a delay of 10 to 20 seconds between items. I ended up sitting in a display of bread while she finished. :) As a benefit, I'm finding I have very little shame.
