I've heard of it, obviously, from Kimbley, but I'm willing to admit I don't fully understand it - especially this alchemy thing. Care to explain? Alchemy is quite a different thing in my world.

Alchemy is used a lot here. We can take an object and turn it into something equivalent when we draw a transmutation circle around it! The circles are usually very calculated. Some people don't need to draw any and can transmute things by clapping. Brother and teacher can do that! I can too.

It's very useful, because you can fix broken things easily. ^____^ It's just impossible to transmute something into something better, or bigger, or greater. It has the be the same matter and the same way, since it uses the same matter as before.

Does that make sense? It might not, I'm so used to alchemy I might have forgotten to explain things.

Um. Mostly. Sounds a bit like transfiguration actually, though with that you could turn a chicken into an armchair, if you so desired.
