Who: Ed and Al What: Getting the stones! Where: Underground city When: Er. Near future. WE'RE AHEAD OF OURSELVES. Why: We're bored and want to do Ed and Al stuff.
Edward still could barely believe that his little brother had his body back and could now grow up normally, like he always should have been able to do. It grated a little on his guilt knowing that he hadn't been able to do it for Alphonse, but as long as it had been done, he was happy as anything. Happier than he'd been for a long time, in fact. "You're sure that everything's . . . working right, right?" he asked for about the thousandth time since he'd first seen his brother's real body.
Just as expected, the quip made Edward speed up, zooming furiously right past his brother and kicking up dirt as he went. "WHO'S SO SMALL A TEN FEET IS LIKE RUNNING TEN MILES?!?!?!" he shouted as he passed Alphonse.
Alphonse just laughed even more, and he nearly tripped. He managed to stumble and stop himself, putting his hands on his knees to catch his breath. He was incredibly happy at that moment, despite being in the underground city and seeing that his body wasn't in the best of shapes. He watched, amused, as his brother went on running in front of him, the dust lifting and making his nose sting a bit.
It took a minute, but Edward did finally realize that the sound of running footsteps had stopped behind him, so he stopped as well and turned to see what had happened. His heart was racing and suddenly it wasn't just because he'd been running as fast as he could. Seeing his little brother doubled over, Edward hurried even faster back to see what was wrong. "Al?" he called worriedly. "What's wrong? What happened? Are you okay? Does anything hurt?"
Alphonse stood up straight, still slightly out of breath, a slightly confused look on his face. "Wh - " He smiles softly at his brother's worried tone, laughing softly. "No, I'm fine! I was just out of breath!"
