Mine was a ring from my grandmother, who passed away 8 months before the wedding. It's actually pretty cool-If you flip it one way, the saphire part shows on the top, if you flip it the other way, it has diamonds. This is the best pic I have of it.

it's what he bought me for my birthday a few months ago.

But I'm worried it will be too small or understated (although I go for small/understated jewelry in general). Or that it'll look weird being my necklace since our wedding colors are red/black/white.

I think that would be a very special something blue..even with the red/black/white...I don't think it will stand out AND it will mean a lot to you...which really, is most important :-)
