Mod Post

*gasp* A mod post?! I know us mods have been pretty quiet around here, but that doesn't mean we're not around. With wedding season picking up, we thought now would be a good time for a update/reminder post about a few rules.

  • New Rule: After discussion amongst mods in regards to an email we received, we have decided that posts with only engagement ( Read more... )

No worries. I've been there, done that.

If some one has clearly tried to post pictures and the link is broken or incorrect (or another problem), we will not delete the post immediately. Such a post would be treated the same as a post without a lj-cut. A reminder/request to fix the image coding and a 24 hour grace period. Then the post will be deleted if there has been no contact from the original poster stating that they are trying to fix things.

That rule is more about posts such as "OMG...I just got married today, I am so happy!!! I'll upload pictures as soon as we get back from our honeymoon!!"

Hope that clears things up.

xmellyx,

Wow, I'm glad you mistook reallifewedding for weddingplans because I didn't even know that community existed! I promptly joined after reading your post. So thanks!

Any post that doesn't have pictures will be deleted immediately. This includes posts that you intend to add pictures to later. If you are having problems posting pictures, please look at the user information for links that will show you how to do so.

What if people are posting questions about taking wedding photos or sharing an experience about doing so? Those sorts of posts have come through here on occasion, if my memory serves me right. In any event, IMHO were someone to post that sort of thing it would be valuable and pertinent to this community.

I'm kind of against the engagement session photo rule.
I have posted my own engagement pictures here. I think that is definitely something people want to share and wouldn't want to wait however many more months to post those pictures.

I think you guys should definitely rethink that.
I think this should be about posting pictures that are your real life wedding related.
Your engagement photos are for your real life wedding.

I look at all of the posts and comment often but now I'm considering leaving this group.

I agree with this as well! I think the engagement sessions are a key part of wedding photography. Personally, I like some of the engagement sessions better than the wedding sessions as they are so personal and intimate and sweet. It also is refreshing sometimes to see something a little different than the same wedding poses, and it helps us to know the people being photorgaphed better.

I don't like it when professional photographers put up one picture and make us click their website/slideshow to see the rest. Oh well. Glad that mods are alive and working. [;

I don't mind so much going to see static photos, but it can be a real pain when the link is to a slideshow of photos.

I totally agree with this! I don't want to see a slideshow either! I want to be able to easily look at the ones I want to look at without waiting for a slideshow to load!
