Central District - [open]
On the list of holidays that Mega Man enjoyed, New Year's was pretty close to the top. He loved this time of year. It was just after Christmas, so people were generally still feeling the afterglow of family, love, presents, and goodwill to men, but the majority of the hype had faded. Now it was a time to start over, to start clean, make plans, and make resolutions. At the beginning of the year, anything was possible.
Mega walked down the street in the Central district, bundled up in warm clothing that he didn't really need but which helped him fit in. He was having fun watching the people and admiring the holiday decorations that had yet to be taken down. Normally, he did this in his own city, but there, he'd always been an outsider looking in. People never really thought that a robot could understand what something like Christmas was. Here in Reality Vanish, where robots were acknowledged as people too, he could walk down the streets and feel like he was really part of what was going on. It was a wonderful feeling.
Mega finally came to a stop in front of a fountain and watched, amused, as a flock of pigeons pecked at some bird seed that someone had scattered on the ground. It made him wish he'd brought something to feed them, too.
