[Jamie has dragged the large wooden chest from Two's TARDIS onto the Plane, and is currently occupied with pulling out the contents in a search for...something. Either the chest is completely crammed full of things, or like so many of the Doctor's belongings is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, as there is a quite a lot of stuff

[Jamie might look up to find Mu looking over his shoulder. Once eye contact is made, Mu tilts his head ever so slightly in lieu of actually asking - because at this point, he's pretty damn sure nobody else he knows is speaking English.]

[Jamie does look up, and when he spots Mu, he gives him a look that seems to indicate he's well aware of the irony here, then points at the chest. But instead of miming something that might work as a translator, as one might expect, he makes a motion like he's climbing hand over hand up a rope.]

You're looking for a rope...?

[Oliver heads over to him as well, speaking in Ceressian. he knows neither of them will understand him, but he's hoping his tone will speak for itself] Jamie? What's going on?

[bonnypiperlad]

[Jamie nods to Mu, then turns as Oliver approaches and makes the same hand over hand climbing motion he was making earlier, then points up as if needing to get to a great height, makes a motion like he's tying a bowtie, then points upwards again.]

The Doctor's in trouble. I need to get to him.

[yay for the great charades, Jamie!] You need to climb? But what's... [imitates Jamie's bowtie motion, then shakes his head to show he doesn't understand. but it doesn't matter in the end, really...] Here, let me help! [steps over to the chest, kneeling down so he can search with Jamie]

[It's fairly clear that Oliver gets...well, at least part of the idea, and Jamie looks relieved, returning to rummaging in the chest.]

[Jamie glances back at Mu, however, not entirely sure what the question's supposed to be. He puts his fingers on either side of his head like Oliver did when he showed up on the Plane earlier, then looks at Mu quizzically.]

Oliver did that before. Is that something that can help?

[Jamie what are you doing? He gets the gist of what he's saying, then looks at Oliver quizzically]

[Oliver almost missed the gesture because he was rummaging in the chest, but thankfully he looked at Jamie when he started talking] What'd I do? [makes the gesture back at Jamie, questioningly--and then he works it out] Ohhhh! [turns to Mu] Mu, I told Jamie we'd both be able to talk to you. Well, I sort of told him, anyway.

[Jamie looks between Mu and Oliver again, trying to puzzle out what it is Oliver is saying to Mu. He's not even sure if Mu understands what he meant by the gesture.]

This would be so much easier if I could understand what ye both were saying.

Ah![As he get's Oliver's meaning, he turns to Jamie, and kinda, pushes his thoughts in]

I'm a telepath.

[Oliver frowns, watching Mu and Jamie and wondering if this wasn't as good of an idea as he thought]

Mu, there's no way for me and Jamie to hear each other, is there? I mean, you know, hear what we mean instead of just...words.

[he feels a bit bad if Mu has to be translator, but still, it's better than nothing]

[Jamie, having not really gotten to that point where he realizes there might be a snag, simply looks relieved.]

It's the Doctor. He's been taken by some soldiers. i need the rope so I can get to him.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Mu nods, then turns to Oliver] He needs rope to rescue his Doctor. Unless one or both of you develops telepathic potential on the spot, I'm afraid you're stuck with me as a middle-man.

[oliverplus]

[makes a face. maybe if you hadn't saved him from that harpoon...] Well, as long as you don't mind...

[and then it connects] He has to rescue his Doctor!? [goes rather fervently back to digging, tossing a series of random items--including an early calculator, several kitchen implements of uncertain purpose, and a red clown nose--behind him as he does so]
