[this Doctor happens to be taking a stroll through the woods, whistling to himself, when he spots his past self. not able to help himself, he veers off in that direction and just catches the tail-end of that comment. it's a moment before speaks]
You can't remember? Never needed a banana in a pinch? I hear they make good substitutes for--well, you know. [where he was going with that sentence he'll never say...]
[The Doctor frowns at you, Ten. He doesn't remember who he is -- so by default, he doesn't remember who you are, either. Or at least, he knows you're his self, but he doesn't remember your name]
I don't know. I can't... [he trails off, frustrated, then pulls out the card]
Still in my pocket. And how come I can remember that bit, but our name's a mystery?
[he hands him the card, then looks back at the pile of things from his pockets] That's different, though. I ought to know who I am, but I've got no idea.
[sits down next to him, a bit concerned at the behaviour he's been witnessing. he has no idea why the Doctor is brooding and emptying his pockets, but he still intends to do something about it]
