Senate confirms Sotomayor

This was pretty much a done deal after the confirmation hearings.
WASHINGTON - The Senate confirmed Sonia Sotomayor Thursday as the first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court. The vote was 68-31 for Sotomayor, President Barack Obama's first high court nominee. She becomes the 111th justice and just the third woman to serve.

Yeah, I saw that. Given the recent protestations of the 911 caller in the Gates "home invasion" kerfluffle I think it is safe to say that Portuguese consider themselves to be Hispanic. :D

I may be wrong but somehow, I get the feeling she may not be a liberal vote all the time. She calls herself a "wise Latina". Well, from what I've seen, latinas tend to be more conservative on social issues than white liberals are.
