I sent a number of emails to the Democrats from Ohio detailing just how bad this would be for them if they passed it, especially since they ran on a "say no to corporate interests" campaign in 2006.
I wonder what these 'dire consequences' that Mr. Bush is predicting will be.
I just can't fathom putting the people that got us into this mess in charge of "fixing" it. "Fixing" is right though. They'll "fix" it up nice. FOR THEM.
It's liberal policies of giving money away out of 'fairness' under charges of 'racism' that have gotten us here. Further liberal policies will only worsen it.
Where could I find a list of who voted 'yea' and 'nay'?
I am extremely glad that the bailout bill was defeated. We need to take our medicine now, let the market heal the damage, and progress from there. We do not need to spread the damage to the rest of the economy and hence produce a bigger crash down the line.
Maybe we have finally learned something from 1929 :)
