The lashings are NOT for getting raped, technically. And over half are for the equivalent of "Contempt of Court."

At least the perps of the rape are being significantly punished for their crimes. It's not perfect, but it's far better than many countries in that area have been.

Katie Couric, back in her Today Show period, agreed to wear a burqa so she would be allowed in to do a puff piece on the many wondrous things ladies could find at the open air markets. Pft.
