Were we dealing with a sane enemy, such a display would make them crap their pants. As it is, they're not sane and, unfortunately (mostly for them), that may end up being more than just a show of force if Iran dares pull a stunt like that with US soldiers rather than just UK soldiers.

No wonder Japanese PM Abe said in recent weeks they should increase security and military ties with the United States, heh.

Especially with China building a huge navy and being on friendly terms with Iran.

Japan relies far more on Mideast oil than we do. Too bad they live on top of a major fault zone. Otherwise they could build a lot more nuclear plants. (Which is what we should be doing.)

Fortunately, you ususally don't have to actually use the brute force. But not only do you have to show that it is there, you also have to demonstrate the resolve to use it. Unfortunately, there many amoung us who would rather set time tables for surrender. :)

I'm sure we can find a better place for US troops than Saudi Arabia.

How soon they forget that it was those same troops that saved his country in 1991.
