Mom just got me a portable water cooler (us actually becouse I sleep during the day and she at night she moves it between the rooms) so I'm not suffering the effects of the hot summer anymore.
Should I send them my story just omit the water cooler part?
I got to work this afternoon (GNC Franchise) and the girl I was relieving (Rachel) warned me that the air-conditioning was broken. She said she had it on full-blast all morning and yet it was just as hot inside as it was outside; Virginia summers suck. So I figured I'd hang out in the back room (which has fewer lights) until I had customers, and on a day like today, there weren't many. After about an hour of sweating like a pig and feeling like I was going to pass out, I figured I'd double check the air-system to make sure that Rachel had put the A/C on the right setting. Well, the bottom switch was set to 'MAX,' but the top switch was set to 'heat.' IT WAS 87 FRICKING DEGREES IN THE STORE! o_O I think Rachel is responsible for global warming.
The wife-unit likes to run the heater through the AC system. I don't know why and I've pointed out that this is most likely the reason the AC always dies in her cars, etc. but she still does it.
He must be thinking about this. After a comprehensive review of climate change data, the pre-eminent U.S. scientific body found that average temperatures on Earth have risen by an average of about 1 degree over the last century, a development that "is unprecedented for the last 400 years and potentially the last several millennia."
The report from the National Academies of Science also concluded that "human activities are responsible for much of the recent warming

A couple of things to point out:
First, accurate record keeping is a relatively new phenomena. We do not have accurate records past a hundred years or so.
Secondly, 400 years/several millennia sounds impressive until you realize the age of the Earth is about 6 billion years and the last ice age ended ten millenia ago. "Millenia" is only a thousand years.
I see you've forgotten that I'm too smart to be a Democrat. ;)
Hey genius. Tell those of us in Texas that have had 100+ degree temperatures in April and May that it's not hot. We're used to the heat and all, but we've had record breaking temperatures several times...DURING SPRING.
in Fresno, the joke ran that if you blinked, you might miss it...
temp-wise, it usually goes from a brisk 60 or so to 70s to mid-to-high 80s within just a couple of weeks. usually in March, but I think winter hung on this year until April/May. moisture-wise, anyhow.
Believe me, when Spring time weather hits it's during the winter...right after we're had snow and wet and nasty muck and gross. Other than that it's typically hot and humid.
