Is it just me, or is this more of a win for North Korea, seeing as how we ceased giving them 'energy aid' back in 1994 and now we've been more or less 'blackmailed' into giving it back to them?

Actually under the 1994 agreement we had been sending them crude oil and fuel for their reactors.

They blinked alright. We opened up our wallet yet again and Kim blinked while saying "Is all that for me? Yippie!"

"The key, of course, is whether North Korea lives up to its promises. It hasn't for the past 20 years, so we need to follow Ronald Reagan's advise to "trust, but verify".

It isn't going to happen. They would never trust anyone to have open inspection of there sites. They hardle trust people to even set foot in to their nation. Secondly they will play the "Clinton Duped" game... in other words "Sure we will stop creating nuclear weapons just give up a nuclear reactor and all the technology and tools to create nuclear weapons... I mean power and we will hide... I mean scrap out nuclear weapon program."
