actually Fox News reported last night that Bush told Kerry to take all the time he needed... Kerry slept on it like Bush suggested... and he conceded... I don't see why he shouldn't be allowed to wait until all votes are counted... Alaska just came in at 100% a few hours ago... so what if Kerry was hanging on threads. As Edwards said, they weren't going to say anything until EVERY VOTE was counted. Kerry could have screamed recount on any number of states(Alaska had some ballot problems, and we all know ballot problems lead to recounts) I was plesantly surprised when Kerry called Bush and conceded. Granted it means he flip flopped one last time as he promised to fight for it... but hey who cares, teh right guy won!

I also think NBC was just being SAFE... 4 years ago they called it and then had to say "wait no!!!" and we sat through how many days of election coverage???

let's not keep slinging mud. We've won...

Doesn't anyone find it really sad that he couldn't even bring himself to address his supporters last night? I can't even imagine what the headlines would be saying if Bush lost and stayed in his hidie-hole until the next day.

that was the only thing I was upset about... but at the same time I don't think he wanted to feel like 1. he let them down, or 2. have them talk him into fighting it

Good grief. The least you could do is take the victory with as much grace as your president.

I'm very happy about the victory, it is the whining from the left that I am addressing.

And the least you can do is accept that he is our President. How about some unifying instead of the destructive negativism that you condemn yet continue to perpetuate? Don't ask of others what you yourself can not do.

Lots of people are saying it's gracious and noble for him to not have filed a zillion lawsuits or kept us hanging for weeks on end like Gore did. But is it really admirable to expect Kerry to simply admit the truth? There was mathematically no way for him to win. That was just a fact. That we are thankful he admitted the truth instead of holding onto lies and deceit tells a lot about our society these days. It shouldn't be above par to tell the truth, it should be the norm.
