Let's see... Republicans get Democrats to end DADT for them so that they don't have to take the hit with their base.

Republicans split the timeline for unemployment and taxes so that they can deal with both separately the next time (thus allowing unemployment to expire after the current extension while still being able to tackle the tax cuts nearly a year later).

And they fix the 9/11 responders' bill.

Yeah, Obama really took them to the cleaners.

It's a lose-lose for them. It keeps the unemployment rate higher than it otherwise would be and there's even less logic to "extending" it again and again in the future.

Unless, of course, they come out and admit that they're trying to recreate a slave class.
