The contract detailed the former Alaska governor's requirements for her visit, including first-class flights from Anchorage to California - if she flies commercial. If not, "the private aircraft MUST BE a Lear 60 or larger ...," the contract specifies.

I thought it was funny that her supposedly diva-esque demands basically consisted of two water bottles and bendable straws.

I was just reading a post about it over at HotAir.

Even if it is her contract it says that first/business class preferred only on international and flights from alaska. Private jets preferences only in case the inviting party decides to offer one. Otherwise the only other requirement - two bottles of water with straws on a podium.

The Learjet 60 is also the only one with the range to make it in a nonstop flight.

And while the Learjet "60" sounds like a large aircraft it only seats seven. Remind me again how many people are in Sarah's family? :D

anyone who has EVER done event coordination, planning or guest relations ... would know that any "celebrity" of any status whatsoever makes almost those exact same demands. movie actors almost all fly "first class or private" just the same. some of them have WAY more bizarre dietary requests than a few bottles of water with straws, too.

heck, aerosmith was notorious back in the day for requesting a bowl of ALL green M&Ms in their dressing room before any concert, and van halen requested a bowl of M&Ms that could contain NO BROWN ones. these requests weren't as weird as they sounded, actually - they were a way that the band could tell upon walking into the dressing room whether the organizer/promoter had actually READ their contract and gone to the trouble to provide the stipulations.

first class air fare or private transport that will accommodate the party, along with accomodations that will likewise accommodate the travel party ... are really VERY standard for anyone at that level of demand or "fame."
