But who would WANT to put their hand in the fire? Who wants to have their ego burned in that way? It's just not...intuitive. Ignorance is bliss; Enlightenment is freedom. And nobody really wants freedom. At least not real freedom -- they might like the image of freedom or the rhetoric of freedom. But real freedom is a scary thing. That would require the steely discipline to hold one's hand to the fire until one becomes fire; to endure the pain of Enlightenment until one is consumed by it
