Okay, this 'book club' still does exist, it does! Now my car is fixed again and while work is still hectic, I caught up with part 1 as I said I would today. Discussion will be under a cut for the sake of anyone on my flist who hasn't read yet. I'll be popping back here tonight and tomorrow and such so we can keep the chatting over it going. reading MS will give you a much greater appreciation for Edward-- it's hard to remember that all of these books are Bella's perspective and she is beyond dazzled!

i loved the wedding too, so yay!

and congrats on the sale!

i can't think of the last time i read a book from this perspective, you forget how in her head you really are sometimes. i love that SM took the time to cut out at moments when another author wouldn't have taken that risk. like when edward killed james. you don't see that because bella wasn't there, and i always appreciated that.

Okay, first of all: AFAIK the bashing of Breaking Dawn started when only the first part of the book was out. So I'd say if you like it so far, chances are pretty good, that you will like the whole thing. And no, I don't get it either. *shrugs* I know the books aren't flawless (which book is anyway?) and there are things that I'd understand when ppl say they hate about the books. BUT what I don't get is why someone who loved the first 3 books and calls themselves a Twilight fan can hate the last book. I really see no reason and I have yet to come across someone who could explain to me why exactly BD is supposed to be such a "fail". *shrugs ( ... )

the truth of the matter was a lot of people were thinking so much about it being the last book to them they just wanted "....and then edward and bella ride off to live happy forever and ever." but the truth is you can't make a good book out of that. there has to be conflict and there has to be unexpected angles. & it's like SM has said time and again, she has accepted that she can't please every reader all the time.

i'm glad alice got her to -have- a wedding. i'm just saying alice seemed to plan every tiny detail to the tiniest degree. it seemed....i dunno, maybe i thought it should have been renee? it's a small detail anyway.

i'm going out to my fav. vinyl shop and then i'm going to grab some lunch. i'm gonna get some reading done there, i just hope the weather stays nice it rained nasty the other day here.
