to-read list

Jul 28, 2007 01:08

the books currently on my "to-read" list, now that I've finished Deathly Hallows

1. Demian by Hermann Hesse
2. The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
3. Twilight: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer
4. Rules of Attraction by Bret Easten Ellis.
5. Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay.

Any suggestions for 6-10?
I'm thinking of putting A Home at Read more... )

"The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro;
"The God of Small Things" by Arundathi Roy;
"The Perfume" by Patrick Suskind;
all the Batrimeus Trilogy (The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye, Ptolemy's Gate) by Jonathan Stroud.

This are the first reads that came to my mind: I think they're all FANTASTIC books; I hope there's any you haven't read yet and matches with your taste!
I've read none of the books on your list, but I've heard so many enthusiastic opinions on them; I've read "Siddharta" and "Knulp" by Hesse and I loved them, I think he's a marvelous writer!

"The Breakdown Lane" by Jacqueline Mitchard. One of the best books I've ever read.

Also "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult is another good one.

To be perfectly honest, after reading number 3 you'll want to read New Moon and Eclipse (comes out August 7th) by the same author ^^ Cuz that book is fantastic.

Twilight was pretty okay. My only problem would be that Meyer takes some liberties with the myth. I honestly missed the traditional vampires.
