Congratulations! If that photo is indication, it looks as though everything was beautiful ("incident" aside, of course).
I don't envy the task of changing your last name, but just know that not changing your last name comes with a host of troubles, too (including -- ahem! -- birthday checks issued to the incorrect name by grudge-holding relatives-in-law). As long a you aren't dealing with, like, high-level security clearances, I think the process is pretty streamlined. Still, red tape is the deviiiil.
Ah yes yes, that's definitely a part of the reason I wanted it changed. Plus, this new last name is much more interesting than the old one. The new full name is Ashley Henley. I like the sing-songy, almost rhyming way it's spoken. I enjoy making life-changing decisions based on minor amusements...
And be thankful you're a girl going into the name-changing process. It's relatively easy for women, compared to the horrible/expensive process that boys have to go through in order to change their last names (like if they're taking their wives' names, or if it's a same-sex union). I was reading about this a few months ago and got duly angry.
Congratulations! From what I can see you look really pretty! Is that a dress or a separate skirt and top?
After I got married I was kind of surprised at how easy it actually was to change my last name. I mean yeah, it's a pain in the butt, but people mostly just take your word for it. Kinda scary.
Thanks so much! I had that kind of crazy exploding smile in every picture. I'm bad at hiding my emotions :) The dress was pretty interesting - a corset top with skirt bottom and then a little bolero jacket to hide my tattoos from my not-so-impressed family.

ugh, i'm sorry you had to erase your wedding video because of that. it was pretty ridiculous, but in the long run, it'll be like it never happened.
we'll definitely have to catch up friday! :)
