And I think that it's awesome/hilarious how you've found a way to write about fanfiction! I think it's an interesting area to study academically, actually. What better way to find out what the people who were around at the time actually THOUGHT about novels than to see their own thoughts and reflections written down!

So this is pretty much my entire argument. The fact that it goes against the grain of most scholarly approaches to this kind of thing is a little ridiculous. On the plus side, it means that my research approach is "unique" and "adds something to the field," which translates into "may someday be publishable if I play my cards right"!
