Look, a post!

Life continues apace over in the world of academia. I turned in my MA essay today (I'm not overflowingly proud of it but I do think it's a solid, well-argued, potentially important piece of work), which means I only have three major assignments between now and May 9, and then FREEDOM. I will be missing your time in Europe by DAYS as I show up in London July 4th! lol.

That will be so exciting for you to be finished and to be getting a break. :) You've worked really hard for it.

And I think that it's awesome/hilarious how you've found a way to write about fanfiction! I think it's an interesting area to study academically, actually. What better way to find out what the people who were around at the time actually THOUGHT about novels than to see their own thoughts and reflections written down!

Aw, sorry to miss you, but glad to hear you're getting back! :) Sadly, on July 4 I will be in a classroom in New York learning French...

What better way to find out what the people who were around at the time actually THOUGHT about novels than to see their own thoughts and reflections written down!

So this is pretty much my entire argument. The fact that it goes against the grain of most scholarly approaches to this kind of thing is a little ridiculous. On the plus side, it means that my research approach is "unique" and "adds something to the field," which translates into "may someday be publishable if I play my cards right"!
