I don't think I have words to explain the kind of "busy" that I've been feeling for the last few weeks. I think part of it stems from the fact that school requires so much more structured, scheduled time out of me here than it did in London and I'm readjusting to that fact. I haven't so much allocated time as made a long list with some strange hope of getting through it...at the moment, grad school apps seems more distant than a lot of the other stuff on my plate (though the reference to December 31 is implicitly about grad school, since that's the day my last app is due).

I know the feeling! After a few weeks of torpor, I'm gearing myself up to get back into the fray of writing and working. Whilst I love it, I know that it's also going to be a bit brutal.
