So I was on www.bible.com because I was looking through Song of Solomon (since the Walcott poem mentions it, and we're supposed to look up those allusions).  But I saw this link that I had to click: "What does the Bible say about...war?" http://www.bible.com/bibleanswers_result.php?id=219

I have to admit, I've had quite a few laughs at that site myself. Actually, we've had several discussions on the verse you posted on a Christian-based forum I go to; basically the conclusion we've come to is that God puts people in power, and people like Hitler and Stalin who abuse it will be removed. And just because there's no mention of women being soldiers doesn't necessarily mean it didn't happen.

...yeah. I guess I find it hard to come to terms with the fact that people actually think like that, except they definitely do.

Granted, the same site was talking about how yoga is devil-worship because it derives from eastern religion...go figure. "If you'd like to be saved from yoga, say a prayer to Jesus in your heart and He'll help you!" Am I the only person who can't say that with a straight face?

You're ranting at me 'cuz the stupid guy won't listen, and I will. Someday I want to learn more about non-Western religions; for the moment, I'm mostly ignorant of other religious traditions, but at least I'll admit to it.
