Just got back from LunaCon. It was fun, despite programming's total disorganization, and the fact that the Masquerade got thrown together at the last minute, was in far too small a room, and never did make it into the printed schedule. My panels went well, even the one Friday at 4:00 where I was the only panelist who showed up ( Read more... )

Glad you had a good time. My own con-going won't be until August, and I'm looking forward to it: one weekend at the worldcon, the next at the local affair.

Yea for making table fees.

I heard from others that the art show was rather small this year or sparsely populated.

The Masquerade sounds like a total cock-up and I await to hear what happened there.

The art show had a tiny bit of empty space; I think it was part of a table and at least one panel. Several artists didn't come in until Saturday, so it looked a lot emptier before that. A lot of familiar artists, plus some very promising newbies. I was particularly taken with the steampunky shadow boxes.

The masquerade was apparently an afterthought; rumor has it that it got dumped on someone with less than a month to go. There were a total of eight entrants, counting the young fans (a pair of tiny twins in fire/water princess outfits). All were high quality, there just weren't very many of them. The room (a third of the downstairs ballroom; the art show had the other two thirds) was standing room only; I'm told a lot of potential audience members left because there were no more seats. So yeah, total cock-up.
