I have seem to go all domestic all of the sudden. The house is clean (well to the point that we could have company over and not wince) and the laundry is almost done.
We have lost a couple of branches but so far (crossing fingers) that's it. On occation the wind sounds like a freight train except that one case when it turned out to be the local train pulling in. Power, so far, has not been a problem.
Peter finally ventured out of the house to go bowling but that is going to be the only excursion for us today.

Yah know, I've never had pecan pie. Need to try that some day. And real key lime pie. Hmmm.

Pecan pie is excellent *if* you get a good one. Most commercial pecan pies are a thin layer of nuts over too much filling. The good kind is mostly nuts with just enough filling to hold it together. (I've seen recipes that call for only 3/4 cup of pecans; the good ones have a least 2 cups.)
Real Key lime pie is also definitely worth it--but it needs to be made with actual Key limes, which only grow in coastal areas (the salt-water soil is crucial).
