Subjects?

Mar 20, 2008 09:56

After exploring Malaise I have come to a rather interesting conclusion. Very few people put subjects for their posts, even in journals that start a completely new idea or say what happened during the day. This seems like quite a waste of time now, doesn't it? If one doesn't put a subject they will be forced to read through every post they ( Read more... )

Eh, I do it when I feel like/ when I remember. Sometimes I just use song lyrics for a subject or in Edgeworth's case I use "casefile xx"

So yeah. Don't plan on changing. O:

That's perfectly alright for you to not change, I just was curious about it I suppose. I've always been taught its important to label and head things, though I suppose not everything needs a subject line.

It really isn't so hard to find things when they don't have a title.

Well, most things probably not, but some things it would be. If you were browsing the logs of the patients at Malaise (as I have been doing in an attempt to get to know more of the people I will be around), it might be hard to figure out what the journal entry is about. It's helpful for those quickly searching.

Does it really matter if our...have subjects?

Well, it would depend on which "..." you meant. For responses such as this is or yours was, no, a subject is most likely not needed. However, for a new journal entry, new topic, etc. a subject comes in handy for those reading as well as for you if you make many posts in your journal (or post daily as suggested).

All the same, this was simply an observation of mine. I find that organization helps things run more smoothly, so this is my way to try and organize my posts at least even though few others seem to see the need for subjects.

You seem like such a nice woman. But really are subjects so necessary?

Well, I think I'll consider them necessary until someone convinces me otherwise, but I of course do not insist that others have to share my views. I'm glad you think I'm nice though, its a pleasure to meet you as I so rudely forgot to say before. I'm Rory Gilmore for future reference, here as an intern at Malaise.

You seem bright for your age. What is your position here again, girl?

I'm the new intern here at Malaise. I still haven't entirely figured out who I'm supposed to be shadowing yet, but I intend to figure it out once the dance has ended. I'd hate to disturb people during such a fun event though.

Yes, that's right.

May I ask who you are? I'm trying to get to know as many people as I can at Malaise, so finding out all I can is helpful you see.
