I got my first grant rejection letter as an assistant professor. Oh, yay. Didn't make the cut for the internal ACS grant. Oh, well, I kind of knew that would happen. Its pretty tough to justify infectious disease research (even if it is a real problem for cancer patients) to cancer wonks. They all want you to cure cancer. Whatevs. As if *

Hey, beats eating a box of doughnut holes, right? Baby steps.
I would pick a workout that can't be made more fun by interesting swag. Guess I'll just have to get some pretty yarn instead.
