I'm amending the Mission statement right now but I'm not sure how to proceed with the comment issue. Anyone have ideas about how I can re-tailor the comment to avoid the drama?

It'd be a pity to stop, why not use your review statement as your comment. Saying something like "I found your lj blah blah blah." and then have a bit of an explanation. A sort of comment signature type.

I don't want to stop, though the intimidation has slowed me down. The only way to go is to use the reviews. But that scares me too.

I was going to say what badbh said. Your review statements are hardly ever the same so that can't be considered spam, and it's not against the TOS to express an opinion about someone's journal. Or, I don't remember reading about that. ;)

I'm just worried about what they called mass unsolicited comments. We know it's not in the TOS as it's written but they'll hold people to it.

Ok, so this is long, but I tried to mostly cut and paste your own words - you can feel free to edit any way you'd like, obviously, including making it shorter ( ... )

That helps a lot. I think I might just use a template like that.

When the new Mission statement goes up I'll credit you.
