Chapter 3
“Now what the hell was all that about, Kyuhyun? Did you have to shout that out and hurt Sungmin’s feelings?”
Kyuhyun sat down and rubbed his temple. “No, I didn’t mean to say that. It’s just that everything is crowding into my head. I don’t know what’s real or not.”
Eunhyuk stared at Kyuhyun for a moment. “Kyuhyun, can you read people’s minds?”
“Can’t you read my mind and get your answer?”
“No, because I lost that ability a few days ago.”
“What?!?!?” Kyuhyun looked at Eunhyuk in shock. “You lost that ability? How? Why?”
“I don’t know. It just gradually happened. I can no longer read the members’ minds.” He looked at Kyuhyun. “But I think you can.”
“What?!?!? No, that’s crazy. These things don’t happen, not to me at least.”
“Oh really? Then tell me why all sorts of things are crowding into your head. You can hear the other members’ thoughts. I bet if you go to the upper dorm, your head would kill you even more than now. Those guys think as loud as they talk.”
“Thanks for the warning, hyung. Now I know to avoid them for as long as I have this ability.” He rubbed his temple and closed his eyes, trying to relax for a moment. “So hyung, how long did this ability last?”
“I don’t know. A few days? A few weeks? Doesn’t matter. Just glad it’s gone now. Seriously bothered me, being able to hear their thoughts. You won’t believe some of the things they think of or keep secret.”
“Oh right…now that I can read everyone’s minds, I can learn their deep, dark, dirty secrets.” Kyuhyun smiled to himself, ready to test out his new ability and possibly gain more power.
“No, no, no you can’t do that, Kyuhyun. Invasion of privacy.”
“Whatever hyung. It’s not like I’m hurting anyone. It’s just for a bit of fun, just among the members.”
Eunhyuk rolled his eyes. “Whatever, Kyuhyun, but aren’t you forgetting something?”
“What?”
“Sungmin? And his hurt feelings?”
Kyuhyun’s eyes widened. “Oh crap.” He rushed out the door, hoping to find Sungmin and apologize for what he said.

Kyuhyun found Sungmin in one of the practice rooms, playing the piano. He stood at the door, watching him. Sungmin was playing some sad song he couldn’t remember the name to. He looked so sad and heartbroken Kyuhyun couldn’t help delving into his mind to figure out what was wrong.
Does Kyuhyun not like me at all? Why? Is there something wrong with me? I wish I knew what he thought of me…it would help clear things up. I can’t live like this anymore, always at risk of a broken heart.
Kyuhyun saw the lone tear trail down his face. It broke his heart that he was the cause of Sungmin’s tears. He wished he could take all the pain away but he didn’t know what to do. How could he fix a broken heart when his was just as broken?
