Chapter 16
“Hi everyone.” Ryeowook walked into the dorm with a smile on her face.
“WOOKIE!!!” Sungmin and Donghae enveloped Ryeowook in a hug. Leeteuk, Heechul, and Kibum came out to see the commotion and saw Ryeowook being squeezed to death by Sungmin and Donghae.
“Wookie!”
“Teukie umma.” Ryeowook got free and ran over to hug Leeteuk. “I see you’re feeling better. But you still have some bags. Let me take care of that for you.”
Ryeowook pulled Leeteuk into the kitchen, the other girls following.
“Have you guys eaten anything?”
Ryeowook took a quick peek around and shook her head. “Oh you poor babies. Let me make you some food.” She immediately started bustling around the kitchen, pulling out various ingredients.
Soon the kitchen was alive with rich delicious scents.
Someone knocked on the door.
Sungmin went to open the door.
“Hi, Minnie. May we come in?”
“Hi Shindong. I take it you smelled the food and now you want us to serve you breakfast?”
“Well since you’re offering, how can I refuse?” Shindong quickly made his way to the kitchen. The other boys followed. Kyuhyun gave a morning kiss to Sungmin. She closed the door and walked to the dining room with Kyuhyun.
Everyone had already settled themselves around the table. Kibum and Siwon were setting the table while Shindong, Donghae, and Eunhyuk were happily chatting together. Heechul was perched on Hankyung’s lap, just watching everyone else. The only awkward people were Kangin and Leeteuk. Sungmin couldn’t help but sighing.
Ryeowook walked out of the kitchen with a plate of food in each hand. “Oh guests.” She smiled. “At least I made extras so I think we’re set.” She placed the plates of food down and went back into the kitchen. She brought out several more dishes before sitting down next to Yesung. She gave him a morning kiss before passing out food.
Everyone stared at the two in disbelief. Ryeowook kept putting food on plates but when she noticed how quiet everyone was, she looked up to find them staring at her. She instantly blushed. “W-w-what are you all staring at?”
“You and Yesung. When did that happen?”
“Oh…uh…yesterday.”
“Hey, same day as Kibum and Siwon.”
Ryeowook’s eyes popped out. “Kibum and Siwon are together now? Yay! Congratulations.” Ryeowook beamed at the couple. She turned back to see everyone still looking at her.
“What? Are you all going to just sit there and stare at me or start eating?”
“Eat.” Shindong immediately started putting food on his plate. Everyone else followed suit.
XOXOXOXOXO
“Open wide.” Kyuhyun reluctantly opened his mouth to allow Sungmin to feed him. She smiled and took a bite of her own food. She caught Kyuhyun’s expression and put a pout on her face.
“Do you not like it when I feed you, Kyu?” Sungmin looked down at her lap, appearing to be trying to hold her tears in.
Kyuhyun quickly panicked. He wrapped his arms around Sungmin. “No no no no no, you have it all wrong, Minnie. I don’t mind you feeding me. I like it. In fact, I love it when you do that.”
“Liar.” Sungmin looked Kyuhyun directly in the eye. Kyuhyun was surprised at the intensity of her stare. “You don’t like it at all. I saw that expression. You think you’re too old to be doing something like that even if it is me feeding you. It makes no difference whatsoever if I fed you or your mother did, you’d still have the same attitude.” Sungmin stood up and stomped off to her room, Kyuhyun trailing behind.
XOXOXOXOXO
“Hyukkie!” Donghae climbed into Eunhyuk’s lap while he was still eating. He frowned when he couldn’t reach his mouth anymore.
“Yes, Hae?”
“Let’s go out today.”
“Sure, Hae. Now can you let me get back to eating?” Eunhyuk moved Donghae off his lap and resumed eating. Donghae crossed her arms and huffed. She pouted before getting off and going to her room. Eunhyuk didn’t notice a thing until he had finished eating.
“Alright, Hae. Ready to go?” He turned to his right and stared. Donghae wasn’t there anymore. “What happened to Hae?”
“Oh she left a few minutes ago, while you were stuffing your face full of food.”
Eunhyuk’s eyes widened in panic. Oh shoot, if she’s been gone that long, I’m really in for it now. He quickly left the table and ran to Donghae’s room. He tried to open the door but it was locked. He jiggled the doorknob a few times, hoping that would do something but it stayed shut.
Everyone in the dining room could hear Eunhyuk pounding on the door, yelling Donghae’s name.
XOXOXOXOXO
“Come on, Hannie. Let’s go shopping today.” Heechul tugged on Hankyung’s arms, pulling him away from the table. Hankyung tried to protest but Heechul heard nothing. She grabbed her purse and pulled Hankyung out the door.
XOXOXOXOXO
“So what does everyone have planned for today?” Leeteuk looked at the remaining people at the table.
Kibum looked at Siwon. “Well we had a date planned. So we’ll probably be leaving after breakfast.”
“Oh.” Leeteuk frowned a bit. She turned to look at Ryeowook. “What about you? Don’t tell me you’re leaving when you just got back.”
Ryeowook blushed in embarrassment. “Uh…actually I am. Yesung and I have a date today as well.”
“Oh…okay then. I-I guess I’m going to be all alone in the dorm today.”
“Aww, don’t worry, unni. It won’t be that bad. If you want, I could cancel our date and stay here with you.”
“Oh no no no. Don’t cancel because of me. You guys go have fun. Don’t worry about me. I can use this time to catch up on things like sleep.”
Ryeowook smiled. “Alright then unni. Bye.” Ryeowook, Yesung, Kibum, and Siwon left. Shindong discreetly left as well so Leeteuk and Kangin were left alone in the kitchen.
XOXOXOXOXO
Leeteuk looked down at her plate, not looking at Kangin. “So, I guess Donghae let Eunhyuk in. I don’t hear any yelling or pounding.”
Leeteuk smiled at Kangin. He was looking down at his plate, moving food around with his fork. The smile slipped off Leeteuk’s face and she turned back to her food.
Kangin cleared his throat. He looked up to see Leeteuk looking at him. He couldn’t stop the feeling of nervousness washing over him.
“Uh…Leeteuk…I-I-I was w-w-wondering if you wanted to spend the day with-with me uh…today?”
Leeteuk looked up at Kangin in surprise. “Are you asking me out on a date?”
Kangin looked up to see Leeteuk looking cutely confused at him. He couldn’t stop the blush from rising to his cheeks. “Uh…yes…”
Leeteuk smiled. “Alright. Just give me a few moments to get ready.”
Kangin dumbly nodded his head. Leeteuk flashed him another smile before leaving the table and going to her room.
When Leeteuk came out a few minutes later, Kangin hadn’t moved positions. He was still sitting at the table, staring blankly at nothing. She couldn’t help but giggle at how cute he was.
Her little giggle brought Kangin out of his daze. He stood up from the table and smiled as he made his way over to Leeteuk.
“Shall we go, my lady?” He held out his arm to her. She giggled at how old-fashioned cheesy he was being and found it incredibly adorable. She slipped her arm through his and walked out the door.
XOXOXOXOXO
“Alright, is everything all set?”
“Just about. You guys done over there?”
“Almost. Just a few more touches.”
“Well hurry up. They’re almost here.”
Someone ran into the room. “He just texted me. They’re on their way and will be here in 15 minutes.”
“Alright everyone. Places, places, places.”
XOXOXOXOXO
Kangin took Leeteuk to the mall where they wandered around, holding hands and window shopping. When Leeteuk started to feel tired, Kangin suggested they sit down somewhere. They went to the food court and sat down at an empty table. They talked for what turned out to be hours. By the time they noticed the time, the mall was closing.
“Oh wow…time really flies when you’re having fun.” Kangin smiled at Leeteuk.
“Yeah…” Leeteuk blushed. She still wasn’t used to having a guy’s attention especially Kangin’s. Today had been so much fun for her. She never wanted it to end. “I wish it would never end.”
“It doesn’t have to.” Leeteuk looked at Kangin, puzzled. He smiled and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards an unknown destination.
XOXOXOXOXO
“Alright, I see them coming. Places everyone. No mistakes. We only have one chance. Go, go, GO!”
XOXOXOXOXO
Leeteuk looked around, confused. Kangin smiled as he opened the door. Leeteuk walked through the door and stopped in shock and surprise.
“OMG! Kangin.”
The place was beautifully decorated with soft, romantic lighting. A table was set for two in the middle of the room. Dinner had already been laid out.
“Oh Kangin, this is so beautiful and sweet and romantic. I can’t believe you did all this.” Leeteuk turned to look adoringly at Kangin.
Kangin coughed to hide his embarrassment but that failed since his cheeks were stained a bright red. Leeteuk smiled brightly, dazzling Kangin.
“Come on. Let’s eat. I’m starving.” Leeteuk walked over to the table and sat down. The food looked so delicious and pretty sitting on the plate. She watched as Kangin slowly came over. As soon as he had settled himself in his seat, she began to eat. They ate in silence.
When they finished dinner, Kangin cleared away their plates and returned with dessert. Leeteuk gasped at the beautifully made cake.
“Oh it’s so pretty I don’t want to eat it.”
“Then don’t. It’s a fake.” Kangin laughed and picked up the cake by the fake fruit attached to it. Leeteuk pouted. “Aww, it’s alright honey. Here. Something to cheer you up.”
Kangin gave Leeteuk a white box he hid behind his back. She eagerly took it and quickly unwrapped it. She gasped as she lift the lid to reveal the present. Inside rest an angel dressed in white. Around it’s neck was a diamond pendant and another small box. She carefully lifted the angel out of the box and placed it gently on the table. She pulled out the small box nestled amongst the tissue. She carefully opened the lid. Her eyes went wide. She dropped the box and stared at Kangin, dumbfounded.
Kangin knelt down to pick up the box. He looked up at Leeteuk and gently smiled.
On bended knee, he held the box up to Leeteuk and asked, “Leeteuk, will you marry me?”
“I-I-I-”
“I love you, Leeteuk. I’m sorry for all the pain and hurt I’ve caused you. I never meant to hurt you. I just love you so much it overwhelms me. Please make me the happiest man on earth and marry me.” Kangin held the box out to Leeteuk and looked down at his feet, afraid she would reject him.
Leeteuk stared down at Kangin. She felt a smile tug on her lips. She placed a finger under his chin and lifted his face up to hers, staring into his eyes. She saw the manly pride but saw the fear of rejection beneath. She also saw love shining from his eyes and that was all she needed to know.
She leaned down and gently placed her lips over his. “Put that ring on my finger, Kangin.”
Kangin smiled brightly and placed the ring on her finger. He stood up and pulled her towards him for a deep loving kiss.
“I love you, Kangin.”
“I love you, Leeteuk.”
Leeteuk smiled brightly with tears shining in her eyes. “How long are you guys going to stand there? Come over here and give us a hug.” She turned in Kangin’s arms to stare into the darkness.
The lights turned on, revealing the whole group. Everyone was smiling.
Heechul was the first to step forward. “Congratulations, Leeteuk unni.” She smiled and walked over to hug Leeteuk. That broke the spell on everyone else and soon everyone was wrapped in one giant group hug.
“Oh I’m so happy for you, Teukie unni. You really deserve this.”
“Kangin, you better make her happy or you’ll have to deal with all of us.”
“I will. I will. I promise I will never hurt her intentionally.” Kangin wrapped his arms around Leeteuk and smiled. Sungmin smiled and leaned back into Kyuhyun’s embrace.
“So when’s the wedding?”
The girls all started talking at once while the boys just stood there, watching them.
“Can we talk about all that later? Let’s go out and celebrate. We have so much to celebrate.”
“Yeah. To happy couples and true love.”
Everyone smiled at that. Kangin wrapped his arm around Leeteuk’s waist and held her close. Heechul leaned into Hankyung’s warm embrace. She leaned up for a light kiss. Siwon held Kibum at his side. Yesung leaned over Ryeowook, arms locked in front of them. Eunhyuk had his arms wrapped around Donghae. Sungmin was snuggled in Kyuhyun’s embrace.
Shindong smiled at all the beautiful couples.
“Come on, everyone. Let’s go home. We have a big day ahead of us.”
Everyone smiled and walked out hand in hand, ready for whatever the future held.
